Minneapolis Chiropractor: Is My Posture Causing Poor Health?

Posture Causing Poor HealthTens of thousands of Minneapolis residents are walking, sleeping, driving, or sitting with poor posture.

Even worse, with the popularity of mobile phones and laptops, more and more of us Minnesotans are hunching over our devices to keep up with our friends and followers on social media, or checking emails and the latest news at odd hours of the night.

Therein lies the problem. Our bodies were not designed to hold poor posture for more than a few minutes… let alone for hours at a time. By continuing our poor postural habits, we are unknowingly changing the shape of our spines, and putting ourselves on the road to health problems.

At my chiropractic clinic in Minneapolis, I see this every single day. People come in with back pain, neck pain, headaches, migraines, general discomfort, fatigue, or health issues that seemingly just “popped up” out of nowhere.

The concerning part is, many of my patients who are experiencing these types of symptoms or health issues are in their teens or early 20’s – as opposed to late 50’s or 60’s. That’s because poor posture has accelerated their aging, and therefore they are in as much pain or suffering, or experiencing the same types of diseases as their parents or grandparents. Shocking isn’t it?

How is Poor Posture Related to Health Issues?

In its “normal” state, a healthy spine is comprised of three curves – cervical, thoracic, and lumbar. The spine’s shape is designed to hold up the body’s weight, disburse the effects of gravity and pressure, and most importantly, allow for nerve energy to flow freely and uninterrupted between the brain and the rest of the body.

Poor posture throws off that delicate balance, by changing the structure of the spine, and therefore causing what chiropractors call Subluxations – or spinal misalignment. Spinal misalignments stretch or pinch the delicate nerves that carry important nerve energy to our limbs and vital organs – leading to pain, discomfort, tingling / numbness, and disease.

Imagine your spine is a sprinkler system, delivering adequate water from the tap to your lawn and rose bushes. What do you think will happen to the flow of water if you pinch the garden hose, or bent the pipes? You’d diminish or stop the flow of water from getting to your lawn, right?

For the first week or so, you wouldn’t see a noticeable change in the appearance of your lawn or flower garden, but after about two weeks you’d notice the change.

How to Fix Poor Posture

At my Minneapolis chiropractic office, we specialize in the Chiropractic BioPhysics technique. Chiropractic BioPhysics or CBP is a corrective care technique… well, actually its the most researched, published, scientific, and results oriented corrective care technique in the world.

As its name implies, corrective chiropractic care aims to not only restore the spinal curves to their “normal” shape, but in doing so, eliminate nerve interference, and allowing nerve energy to once again flow uninterrupted from the brain to your limbs and organs.

This technique is non-invasive, 100% safe, and has helped not only my patients in Minneapolis, but globally. There are only a few hundred of us CBP chiropractors in the world, and we uphold a much higher standard in patient care, focusing on outcomes and restoring overall health.

The Steps Involved

You can’t always determine if you or a loved one has poor posture just by looking at them. They may seem in alignment at first glance, but only a licensed chiropractor specializing in postural correction or corrective chiropractic can make that determination.

Through digital x-rays and postural assessment software, our Minneapolis chiropractors can take a look at the global structure of your spine, and measure its curvature. Once we determine where these subluxations are, we can create a custom treatment plan to restore them to normal.

As mentioned before, we are one of only a handful of chiropractors trained in Chiropractic BioPhysics in the state of Minnesota. That means we know exactly how to go about realigning your spine, and eliminating nerve interference – allowing your body to heal and function property.

Through specific chiropractic adjustments, mirror image exercises and traction, we are able to reshape your spine slowly and painlessly to where it is supposed to be.

At first, patients notice a reduction in their pain or discomfort, but after a few weeks they realize a lot of their health issues are either improving or diminishing altogether. That’s because we are removing nerve interference – just like the garden hose – allowing for nerve energy to heal.

Many of our patients have reported their overall health improving so much, that they stop taking drugs or cancel other therapies that they had once prescribed to. Migraines, allergies, weak immune system, high blood pressure, acid reflux disease, and even asthma sufferers have reported a dramatic improvement in symptoms after the first month or so of corrective treatment.
